In a world of ever-increasing varieties of car trailers, it is safe to say that the Uhaul Car Trailer has carved a name for itself.Ī typical U Haul car trailer has deck dimensions of 148” x 79.25” x 19” (Length x Width x Height). 11 Will a dually truck fit on a car trailer?.10 Can you haul a full-size truck on a U-Haul trailer?.9 What size car trailer do I need to haul a truck?.8 Will an F250 fit on the Uhaul trailer?.7 What is the max wheelbase for a Uhaul car trailer?.Only thing on the sides are the fenders and they are hinged and fold down so you can open the door. An open trailer should not be that more costly then renting a over worked trailer. My suggestion, if you don't care to drive, is to hire a transport service. The best way to correct whipping is to apply the trailer brake only with the electric brake controller, but that is not possible with a U-Haul trailer. If the trailer is whipping (correct term apparently), applying the tow vehicle brake will only worsen the condition. There is no provision for an electric brake on the U-Haul trailer. The trailer pushing against the truck trying to stops activates a hydraulic brake in the trailer. One thing to note is that the U-Haul trailer is only equipped with a surge brake, meaning, that the only way to apply the trailer brakes is to apply the tow vehicle brake. When I did it, I was already 700mi away from home to pick up a car I had bought. ![]() The rear wheels will just get on the trailer and there is such an overhang off the end of the trailer that it removes a lot of weight off the tongue making the whole trailer unstable no matter what you tow it with. I experienced exactly the same symptoms with a 61 Fleetwood as your friend is describing.
